A Father is Set Free

Today a father is set free
And while he went while on his knees
And he is not coming back to sit under his tree,
Today a warrior had to flee.

He walked on the earth
Yet now there are no embers left in his eye’s hearth
He lived in the sky, among the stars
He lived on the edge,
Deep in the forest of no trees,
Deep inside, at the bottom of his bottle
Naming and counting the constellation through its bottom

Today a father is set free
And while he understood the secrets of the sunsets
Dancing with the angels that floated to him in the moon beam
Craving liberation, his only prison skin and bone
Find him at midnight,
Find him pensive gazing at the stars – dark, his destination.

Today a father is set free
And while he went while on his knees
And he is not coming back to sit under his tree,
Today a warrior had to flee.
